Evon is the executive director of the Indigenous Leadership Institute, co-founder of Native Movement, and former Chief of the Neetsaii Gwich’in from Arctic Village in northeastern Alaska. He has served as the co-chair of the Gwich’in Council International and on the executive board of the Alaska Inter-Tribal Council. Evon is a well-recognized advocate of Indigenous Peoples rights, youth, and a balanced world, active as a speaker, strategist, writer, and organizer. He is the husband of Navajo leader Enei Begaye Peter and father of three beautiful children; Olav, Nanieezh, and Cheelil.

- Native Movement: Offers culturally based youth programs in sustainability, artistic expression, and violence prevention on the Navajo and Hopi Nations, as well as within the city of Flagstaff, Arizona.
